All of the planning work is concentrated on integrating the development into the wider landscape, responding carefully to those edges of the development which adjoin the countryside at Joshua Tree. In keeping with the philosophy of Home Grown Food Network to demonstrate only using materials available to low income people, planting of trees will be done using recycled drums and methods integrated with this form of gardening will be discussed at seminars.

Eco Dome

What is an Eco Dome House? Eco Dome houses are economical structures that are based on the design of Cal Earth (California Institute of Earth Art and Architecture). Sometimes called a “moon cocoon”, this house, built according to plans drawn bv Cal Earth architects, will serve as a demonstration of the use of material named “super adobe” derived from earth found at the HGFN site at Joshua Tree. “earth building in Georgia USA”
